Hey Home Campers!!! It’s Dr. Bob!!
Just complied a few ideas to help all keep on track & have some fun!!
Thanks to the APA, BBA, FSW’s @ Headstart & others!!!
Tips & Tricks
Create a study space that is as distraction free as possible. I know that it can be a challenge to spread out as a family — our dining room table is working well and it is not uncommon to see several people working there with headphones on!
Make a schedule. Use a post-it-note a day to keep track of your to do list.
Take breaks — tech free if possible. We are all spending more time on screens; build in time away from phones and computers, and you will feel better.
Add in some exercise! I've heard of people re-booting their old Wii & doing Dance Revolution. There's yoga and even online weight lifting & training videos
Ask for help, if you need it. Teachers, school counselors, advisors and the health center team are all here for you.
Connect with friends and community members — remotely. Facetime, Zoom, Google Meet are all easy ways to stay connected.

Have a child whose birthday falls during safer at home/shelter in place? I do. It can still be magical. At least that’s what I’m telling my soon-to-be birthday girl.
- For young or elementary school children, consider this free resource to party with friends: https://www.skyzone.com/virtual-birthday-party
- Older kids might enjoy having a synchronized movie watching session with integrated chat box: https://www.netflixparty.com/
- Other birthday ideas that can work with social distancing: ask friends/teachers/family to make birthday signs and/or sing happy birthday as they drive by your home. Put a sign up asking anyone/everyone to honk for the birthday kid as they pass your home. Order cupcakes locally with delivery to friends/family homes (or deliver to doorsteps yourself, if allowable) and have host a zoom video call to eat them together, sing, etc. You can get a free zoom account that allows up to 40 minutes for group call: https://zoom.us/pricing
